Come Sing With Us
On Wednesday 7th January 2026, the choir resumes rehearsals after it’s holiday break. What better opportunity to fulfil your New Year resolutions to get out more, make new friends, and engage in healthy exercise! Everybody knows that singing is good for both your physical and mental health and the camaraderie to be found in a male voice choir is legendary. If you’ve ever played team sports, like football or rugby, and feel you’re missing that team spirit and banter, then you’ll find it again and more in our choir.
And we do far more than just rehearse. We are a performance choir. We’re a registered charity and we sing at every kind of event and venue you can think of: village halls, churches, cathedrals, concert halls, hotels, care homes, theatres and pubs … did I mention pubs? After a major concert we always carry on singing in a local pub. It’s called the “Afterglow”. But we are more than just the members of the choir. We welcome wives, partners, family members and friends to all our social events as well as our concerts. We host gala dinners, skittle matches, quiz nights, steam railway outings and coach trips. Come away with us on our annual tour. In 2026 we’re having a long weekend in the Isle of Wight. In 2025 it was in Tenby. Before that we went to Looe in Cornwall and sang with the Polperro Fisherman’s choir … and before that to Liverpool where, of course, we sang “Ferry Across The Mersey” on the Mersey ferry.
The Cotswold Male Voice Choir rehearse every Wednesday evening from 7.30 to 9.30 pm at Helen Porter Hall, Dean Close School, Hatherley Road Cheltenham GL51 6EP (opposite the Bacon Theatre). We are a membership choir and a registered charity, not a commercial business. Our membership is only £120.00 a year (£10.00 per month) to help fund our professional music team. Try us out for free. Joining a choir takes commitment. We know that and you’re welcome to attend rehearsals for up to 3 months before you’ll be invited to formally join us. Then we even give you a free uniform so that you can sing with us in our concerts. Our public performances have raised many thousands of pounds for other charities and good causes throughout Gloucestershire.
In 2026 we enter our 77th year as a choir. What better testimony is there than that!
Although tickets aren’t needed, you can let us know that you’re coming so we can look out for you –
