“It is hard to put into words the gratitude I have for your presence at my dad’s funeral yesterday. Whilst there was no direct connection between dad and the CMVC, his Welsh roots and love of a male voice choir and the passion it brings made your contribution yesterday very special indeed.
My hope was that you would bring the three pieces to life, and in doing so give us as a family support to get through the emotion of saying goodbye. You surpassed my expectations, and I am so grateful to you all for the comfort your beautiful voices brought to us as a family.

Wedding August 2025
” On the evening of Saturday 19th July, The Cotswold Male Voice Choir came to perform at Down Hatherley Church to launch the Sponsor A Tile fund raising project. The Choir performed to a full church accompanied by Francis Yiend. The varied repertoire included Welsh treasures such as Gwahoddiad and captivating melodies such as I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You, A Nightingale Sang In Berkley Square, and Spanish Eyes.
Karl Jenkins’ Benedictus, The Prayer and Jerusalem especially lent themselves to the beautiful acoustics of the building. There was even a sea shanty and a couple of Musical Theatre Classics in the form of Some Enchanted Evening, and Tell My Father to broaden the programme.
Some particularly effective harmonisation and some lovely musical arrangements made the rafters ring. The first half was concluded with the beautiful Cotswold Song written for the choir by former Music Director, Leslie Burgess.
Even the refreshments during the interval exceeded expectations with a wide variety of hot and cold beverages and sweet and savoury snacks. Everyone appreciated the efforts of the team of willing volunteers and contributors.
